The Institute for the Dynamics of Environmental Processes
of the National Research Council of Italy poses at the basis of its research project the need felt by the man to understand the "global change" of environment and climate, at different spatial scales, its effects on the land,
its evolution over time and the possible "remedies".
In recent years a growing awareness emerged that environmental changes, both related to the natural dynamics of the planet and influenced, if not determined, by human behavior, have an appreciable effect on the social and economic dynamics.
